Eerste Forza Motorsport 2 DLC binnenkort

Nieuws | 5 juli 2007 - Forza Motorsport 2 ligt inmiddels bijna anderhalve maand in de winkels en de game verkoopt erg goed. Wereldwijd is de game inmiddels al ruim de 500.000 exemplaren gepasseerd en in Amerika verkoopt de game nog altijd erg goed. Op het officiele Forza Motorsport 2 forum is vandaag een interessante update verschenen.

Che Chou van ontwikkelaar Turn 10 zegt namelijk dat er binnenkort een auto-update voor Forza Motorsport 2 aan zit te komen. Deze patch zou diverse bugs fixen, zoals bepaalde bugs dat mensen erg snelle tijden krijgen door een bepaalde baan af te snijden. Interessanter is echter het feit dat de auto-update vergezeld zal worden door de eerste downloadable content voor Forza Motorsport 2. Eerste verteld hij wat over de patch.

"There are some very real bugs in the game that a handful of you have encountered by chance, or have intentionally exploited for gains. These include duping cars to use in the Auction House, using a speed glitch to get super fast times on the Nissan Speedway, getting hit with a bug that gives you a time on the Test Track King Cobra track in the micro-seconds, or taking advantage of a PI calculation bug that gives the Lotus Elan an unfair advantage in its class (and hence dominating the scoreboards). There will be a Forza 2 auto-update patch that will fix these issues very soon."

Che Chou gaat vervolgens verder en verteld dat zijn team zojuist het eerste downloadable content pack heeft doorgestuurd naar het 'Certification Team' van Microsoft. Als alles in orde is dan kunnen we een aankondiging in één dezer dagen verwachten wat betreft de downloadable content.

"The patch will also be coupled with our first DLC pack. Why am I being so vague about dates? Well, because we've just released the thing to certification and I don't want to make any promises I can't keep -- especially if the cert team bounces it back to us. In any case, if all goes well, we'll have an announcement to make about this any day now."

Gelukkig zal dit niet de eerste en laatste content pack zijn want Che Chou heeft ook plannen voor de lange termijn voor nog veel meer downloadable content.

"In the longer term (think a month from now), we'll be looking at other things to consider in order to bring balance and order to the Auction House. These include the possibility that we incorporate a money cap in the game."

Wat de eerste content precies gaat worden is nog niet duidelijk. Of je er voor moet gaan betalen of dat het gratis wordt is ook nog onduidelijk. Dat er content onderweg is mag duidelijk zijn, dus het zal nog even afwachten zijn op meer details.
