Patch voor Call of Duty 3 bijna klaar

Nieuws | 1 december 2006 - De geruchten over een opkomende patch voor Call of Duty 3 hebben we wel eens eerder genoemd, maar vandaag is voor het eerst door Infinity Ward zelf bevestigd dat er aan een patch gewerkt wordt, zo laat een medewerker van het bedrijf weten op officieel Xbox.com forum.

Allereerst bedankt hij alle gamers voor de vele support en complimenten die de ontwikkelaar hebben ontvangen na de recente release van Call of Duty 3:

"Hey Call of Duty fans,

I’m Dan, the producer from Treyarch for Call of Duty 3 multiplayer. First, I would like to say thank you to everyone for playing the game. In the week since the release of Call of Duty 3, the development team has been playing online with the community and gathering feedback on the multiplayer experience. The feedback has been incredible, and we’ve thoroughly enjoyed every minute online with you guys.

We have also read every post on the forums, and we are working as quickly as we can to address the issues that gamers are experiencing. We are in progress on an update, in which we are working to alleviate the connectivity issues with Ranked and Player Matches. We are also adding several improvements based on feedback that we have gathered from the community.

Again, thank you for your support, patience and feedback. As we make progress with the update, we will keep you posted."

Dat een patch eraan zit te komen daar hoeven we dus niet meer over te twijfelen. Call of Duty 2 had echter ook enkele problemen online en dat duurde maarliefst enkele maanden voordat deze opgelost werden. Gaat dit met Call of Duty 3 ook gebeuren? Waarschijnlijk niet, want hij zegt in een volgende reactie dat de patch bijna klaar is en alleen nog getest moet worden, al kan dit laatste nog wel wat tijd in beslag nemen:

I’m happy to announce that we are working through the last of the issues for the update today, and we will now be pushing it through the testing process. Please keep in mind that testing needs to be thorough and thus will take a fair amount of time. Following testing, the update then goes through a final approval process from Microsoft before it goes live to the community. Because of this, I cannot give a firm release date, but I wanted to post the latest news to the forums to keep everyone updated.

Thanks again for your continued patience!"
