Miyamoto: 'Motion controllers slecht voor markt'

Nieuws | 23 november 2009 - Volgens Shigeru Miyamoto zijn de motion controllers van concurrenten Sony en Microsoft slecht voor de markt. Het zou leiden tot minder diversiteit in de industrie, zo zegt hij in een interview met Official Nintendo Magazine.

Quote: Well, I should say that it could be taken as a compliment if others are following suit, by saying Nintendo was right in choosing a certain direction. But if you ask me if that is going to be good for the entire business, I really don’t know. If everyone else is going to do exactly the same thing, unfortunately in this entertainment business that means less uniqueness, and uniqueness is what Nintendo has tried to realise.

Miyamoto zegt het als een compliment op te vatten dat ook Microsoft en Sony de motion controller-markt hebben betreden, omdat dat betekent dat Nintendo de goede richting is ingeslagen. Hij denkt echter dat het de diversiteit van de entertainmentindustrie niet ten goede komt, terwijl dat wel is waar Nintendo naar streeft.
